OVERVIEW
The Social Mobilizer is mainly responsible for community
mobilization activities including awareness raising sessions and rolling out
the remote social mobilization campaign on solid waste management. The Social
Mobilizer is a field-based position and responsible to directly engage with
community’s groups identification and mobilize the community groups, volunteers
and influential on sustainable solid waste management.

Grade: C2
Reports to the Community Mobilization Officer
Coordinates closely with the project team members as and when
required
Interacts and shares learning and information with relevant team
members at the Tearfund
ORGANIZATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS
- The
position holder will be expected to adhere to and promote organizational

- The

- The

and/or community level
CORPORATE
POLICIES, MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES
- Undertake
all activities in accordance with internal management systems, operating
procedures/policies and programmatic protocols; support project team and
organizational efforts to ensure compliance
- The
position holder will be expected to adhere to Tearfund’s Quality Standards
as and when required
KEY
RESPONSIBILITY
- Introduce
the objectives of Tearfund’s interventions to the target communities and
orient them about the project main activities and objectives
- Under
the direct supervision of the Community Mobilization Officer, he/she will
perform community mobilization activities at community level in accordance
with the culture and norms of the target population
- Lead
the formation of Community Organization (COs), Volunteers, UC Committee
and children groups in the schools
- Organize
the meetings, training sessions and follow-up sessions (planning, group)
- Conduct
awareness sessions/walks in communities/schools/religious places
- Launch
and roll out the remote social mobilization campaign on solid waste
management in the targeted areas
- Invite
Households to use the Haryali Hub services
- Distribution
of recycling equipment at HH Level
- Monitor
and mentor the use of recycling equipment to enhance the solid waste
situation throughout the project and to evaluate the behaviour change and
habits in dealing with solid waste
- Maintain
the beneficiary database and transfer data from paper formats into
database systems.
- Prepare
and record community meetings documents.
- Report
the use of materials and possible improvement
- Provide
regular updates to the line manager about daily activities through Field
Visit Reports, work plans and proper documentation
- Maintain
an accurate reporting and data management of the activities
- Monitor
all the project activities being carried out by the Community Organization
(COs) Volunteers, UC Committee and children groups and will reflect them
in their daily reports which will be submitted to Stakeholder and
Community Engagement Coordinator
- Social
Mobilizer will build close partnership with the target communities and
other stakeholders through regular meetings with them on appropriate
intervals
- Be
involved in any evaluation on field survey implemented by Tearfund
- Informing
and documenting the anomalies happening during mobilization campaigns, and
possible improvement necessary for the activities
- Identify
beneficiaries for and document success stories/case studies/ human
interest stories
- Any
other responsibility assigned by the line manager

- As
part of the project team, support and promote effective teamwork and
commitment to Tearfund’s Core Values and Quality Standards
EXTERNAL
RELATIONSHIPS / REPRESENTATION
- Participate
in project activities and events as and when directed by line manager and
represent Tearfund in these said occasions
- Participate
in workshops/trainings/events organized by the Country Office and UK
office
- Support
the Stakeholder & Community Engagement Coordinator where appropriate
in representing Tearfund to donor representatives and other visitors to
the project office and working areas
