Job
Description
- Ensure
that the priorities of the Gender Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction are
integrated into the project activities and action plans.
- Analyse
data collected by the project and develop a gender action plan, inclusive
of activities and timelines and responsible for the implementation of the
Gender Strategy.
- Work
closely with field level project staff and for support CO P&I
Specialist to ensure Gender mainstreaming.
- Support
the development and delivery of gender inclusive DRM programmes under
Gender and Justice Umbrella. Strong understanding of the links between DRM
and gender issues.
- Channel
key recommendations and messaging Advocacy initiatives, as necessary, to
influence policy and practice on gender integration.
- Work
with the communities, staff and other key stakeholders at field level to
build their capacity on gender mainstreaming in disaster risk management.
- Mainstream
gender and highlight gender aspects while conducting capacity development
workshops, visits and awareness raising sessions, to promote and ensure
gender-responsiveness of the design, plans and implementation of the
activities.
- The
Gender Officer is expected to conduct capacity development activities with
key stakeholders.
- Conduct
capacity development workshops, visits and awareness raising sessions to
promote gender equality and gender mainstreaming in hazard-prone
communities targeted by the project.
- Design
sex, age, disability, transgender and monitories desegregated data
collection and monitoring system for project activities;
- Develop
and maintain a database of sex, age, disability, transgender and
monitories desegregated data gathered through project activities
- Provide
technical inputs to the project team in mainstreaming gender.
- Develop
and document good practices and lessons learned on gender mainstreaming in
DRM at the community, district and provincial levels.
- Undertakes
field travel to the project locations as may be required in connection
with project execution.
- Substantive
experience conducting research and analysis in gender equality and
development of gender gap action plan.
- Work
closely with M&E unit to ensure gender mainstreaming in DRM
checklist/components are addressed.
Environment Part
- Gather
data from a range of sources through site assessments, environmental
monitoring and third party reports.
- Evaluate
the environmental impact of the project, hazard or commercial operation.
- Write
up and present findings, costings, health and safety plans and
recommendations on the containment, in order to fix environmental issues
- Develop
site-specific health and safety protocols such as spill contingency plans
or methods for loading and transporting raw materials.
- Provide
advice about preventing future difficulties of targeted sites.
- Implement,
manage and supervise the day-to-day tasks of construction and remediation
schemes
- Communicate
with sensitive stakeholders such as local residents in order to minimise
the impacts of projects on the community
- Regularly
liaise with clients and local authorities relating to planning aspects of
projects.
- Provide
advice to and work alongside other professionals, such as environmental
scientists, planners, construction workers, lawyers and landowners to
address environmental problems and promote environmental sustainability.
- Be
familiar with current environmental regulations and guidance.
- Develop
construction management plan & Monitoring plan for targeted sites of
project in regards of environment.
- Any
other task assigned by supervisor.
Person Specification
It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding
and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and
mission as well as commitment to its SEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and
harassment) protocols. We have zero tolerance policy towards SEAH and doesn’t
support any action that promote or encourage SEAH.
