Background and description
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Community Liaison Activity North (CRA-N) project in Khyber, Kurram, North Waziristan and Orakzai districts to create community-level resilience and conflict in Khyber, Kurram, North Waziristan and Orakzai districts Designed to support prevention activities. CRAN will adopt a multi-disciplinary and socially participatory approach and work in close coordination with the Government of Pakistan (GOP) at the regional and district levels.
Under the overall supervision of the Program Manager and the Resource Management Officer, the IT / Database Assistant will report to the Office of the Senior IT / GIS Assistant CRA-N.
Responsibilities and account:
- Assist senior IT / GIS assistants in providing IT / technical support to CRA North staff, but not limited to:
- Provide necessary assistance in shooting / troubleshooting the program database PAKDB.
- Develop and implement appropriate backup, restore, data authentication, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
- Help upgrade and enhance the existing information system to effectively respond to emerging program needs.
- Improve and automate data authentication procedures to support operational and reporting systems.
- Installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems and applications in accordance with organization policies and standards
- Maintenance and monitoring of computer networks and systems.
- Provide technical support with computer hardware and software
- Troubleshoot software, hardware and network issues in all project offices.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of office devices ie prevention of all systems / devices including fax machine, PABX exchange including intercom, photocopier, network printers, network scanners and mobile phone.
- Ensure compliance with IOM data protection policies / ICT guidelines.
- Assist with IT equipment inventory tracking and inventory updates in accordance with the organization's policies.
- Technical support to the Security Department regarding IP cameras and biometric access control systems and technical support to the HR department regarding the biometric IP-based attendance system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Telecom or equivalent. Work experience of five years in a similar position.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of IT/Technical support (hardware and software).
- Working knowledge of Data visualization and Geographic Information System tools like Power BI, Arc GIS, QGIS, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments in information technology
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, SharePoint and teams)
- Good understanding of Computer Networks (LAN/WAN) and Cyber Security.
- Knowledge of Cloud Services and storage.
- Knowledge of ERP software is an advantage.
SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with others in a cross-cultural and fragile environment.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Computer hardware and networks.
- Strong communication Skills
LANGUAGES:
- Fluency in English & Urdu
Desirable:
- Pashto
