Role Purpose
The Warehouse Assistant will support the Senior Commodity Coordinator in the day-to-day management and operations of the warehouse.
Reports to: Senior Commodity Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Update warehouse inventory records on a regular basis
- Maintain documentation of all goods received, dispatched and disposed of
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of inventory
- Maintain Bin Cards for all inventory
- Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN), Waybills and Gate Passes when needed
- Support the maintenance of warehousing facilities
- Supervise loading and unloading of goods at the warehouse
- Supervise local and casual labor
- Support updating of the soft ledger and stock movement reports
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, well maintained and fit for use
- Carry out any other related duties assigned from time to time
Qualification, Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Excel
- Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies or MNCs in a supply chain role, especially warehousing and inventory, in both emergency and development contexts
